I came to Linden after suffering a major shoulder injury that required many surgeries to repair. At the time, I was unable to lift a cup of coffee or wash my own hair and I was desperate for help but terrified of what might happen. Linden came up with a plan for me and I had complete confidence in him. The results have been so far beyond my wildest expectations and they continue to improve. Within about a year I was able to lift weights overhead, do unassisted pull-ups, even handstands! There is no doubt in my mind that Linden can help you overcome ANYTHING if you’re willing to work at it and trust in his programming. It has been 3 years since I started and things just continue to improve. Linden is creative, resourceful and has a wonderful, deep understanding of body mechanics, physiology as well as the psychological impacts of exercise and fitness.

I had serious doubts on whether I would be able to make a long term commitment to serious lifestyle changes that included daily workouts and dietary modifications. I am in my 40’s with multiple physical limitations (4 herniated/ruptured discs in my spine, 2 ACL reconstructions, plantar fasciitis) an years of abusing my joints beyond their limits. Lindens approach is to set you up for success, and by keeping in mind your personal goals, limitations and abilities he programs workouts that work for you. Linden is extremely knowledgeable about how all the muscles work. I struggle with a bad knee and he always knows just how to modify a workout, so I still benefit from the workout without adding to injury. He is super encouraging and makes everyone realize they are capable of doing more than they think they can. You can tell he loves what he does because it comes out in his coaching.

I would have to start by saying that Linden really understands people. Linden makes time for people and he shows that he cares by listening to individuals who struggle with either mobility, certain movements, or injuries while adjusting workouts accordingly. I have personally never been afraid to ask him anything about a movement or even what weight to use. Linden always have a smile on your face and I just feel that you really love what you do. You inspire me to want to work harder and I love that you show up and support us all in whatever we do as our coach.

I like that Linden always know how to modify workouts that best fit our skill levels while also keeping them incredibly challenging. He is willing to help in any way to get people to where they want to be whether that’s with nutrition, recovery, or workouts. I’ve been training with coach Linden for six weeks now. When I started, I thought I was only going to be able to work out three days a week, but his programming has allowed me to work out five days a week. He’s really good at knowing when you should be doing more and when you should be doing less and balancing the work out to keep you in the gym and getting stronger and faster.

Coach Linden has incredible knowledge about the details. Lots of people coach with a general knowledge of the activity. Linden has great attention to proper technique and the reasons for doing thing a specific way, to not only prevent injury, but also to build maximum strength and balance in the body. His workouts are designed with a purpose. They are not only motivating and varied but designed to build on each other for the ultimate result. Why choose coach Linden? In my experience I have found coach Linden’s personality to be very positive, outgoing and encouraging; he is knowledgeable and overall a great coach to learn skills from. Coach Linden scales (adjusts) the workouts for me when there are particular movements which I am restricted from performing for health reasons, he gives me alternative movements and I still feel like I have had a killer workout when I’m done. Coach Linden is big on correct form, hand and foot position, straight backs and protecting our joints from injuries, he gives great feedback on how to make adjustments. Coach Linden programs a variety of workouts and extended warmups for many fitness levels, whether this is the first time that you have ever stepped foot in a box or are seasoned athlete you will be challenged.

I started training with Linden approximately two years ago and was immediately blown away at his coaching style. He took the time to guide me throw each workout and explain what the goal was that we were reaching for. Pushing yourself while maintaining form and safety from injury were his biggest concerns and that was something, I did not have much luck in with other coaches. If you are looking for a life changing experience with someone who know more than just your basics and wants the best for you then you’ve found him.

Linden is a talented and passionate coach. I could feel his genuine excitement and interest in my health and fitness every time I stepped into the gym. It’s like he was lifting that barbell with me and cheering me on at the same time. I moved away last year and have been following his programming from afar. His workouts work every time! People have stopped and ask me if I am training for a competition! I continue to gain strength, flexibility and mobility. He is knowledgeable and extremely competent. He is excellent at what he does but never pretentious. I always felt comfortable in his presence.

Training with Linden is more than just fitness. It is having access to a wealth of knowledge about anatomy and physiology. If you are sore, injured or ready to try something new you are covered. Linden planned the workouts for our class according to a schedule that showed results quickly and focused on all aspects of strength and mobility. He was also very knowledgeable about scaling workouts according to strength, skill, and stamina to avoid injury without getting cheated out of a good sweat. I met Linden about 6 years ago at our Crossfit box and quickly became aware of his superior guidance and kindness as a coach, and human. Linden challenged me daily for several years to be the best version of myself, physically, with added words of wisdom and stoicism sprinkled in. His coaching was always positive, relevant, and encouraging. I still hear his “dares” to do this or that to push myself even farther. (He knew how to get to me). Linden’s ability to recognize my or anyone’s strengths and challenges. I can’t remember how many times Linden told me to put down a weight because it was too heavy. Linden recognized my form was bad and the potential for injury was high. He didn’t have me stop and feel defeated. We lowered the weight, Linden coached me on my form, and he had me work my butt off until I could increase the weight with good form and confidence. Lowering the weight and improving my form until I was ready to do the lift and the reps correctly actually happened (in my case a lot) but I see it also as a metaphor. Linden recognized the weight people are carrying and how they are carrying it. He also recognized their form; do they have good form or is their potential for injury. This can be physical, mental, or emotional. Linden helped me and others do the work to make the lift, correct form, and be successful. He not only made me a better, safer, stronger, and smarter athlete but you also gave me skills that I could translate to use in my life and work. For that and our friendship, I am very thankful.

Linden helped me through recovery after tearing my PCL, MCL, and Meniscus my senior year of high school. After not being able to work out due to my knee I gained about 30lbs. He gave me valuable info on intermittent fasting and how to eat right. After 6 months of intermittent fasting, I lost over 40lbs and got into the best shape of my life thanks to him!

Bruce Wetmore is 6’2, starting our program on 9/1/2018 at the age of 55 with a weight of 288 lbs. As of 10/26/2019 he is 56 years old with a weight of 220!
Did you have any physical limitations before you started making lifestyle related changes? Do you have those issues now?
Both knees, right arm, and lower back all hurt. None of those issue affect me now, especially my knees. That was the biggest change I noticed when walking up stairs.
What specific lifestyle adjustments did you make and why?
Since September of 2018, I’ve been eating high nutrient dense foods such as vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds, and lean meats while adding in exercise over the last few months. Small amounts of treats (carbs) were strategically added to keep my sanity.
What trip did you want to prepare for and how long is your trip?
Rifle elk hunting trip in Eastern Oregon. This is a week-long trip that has been a tradition for 40+ years with family.
Who do you go on this trip with?
My son, my brothers, nephews, and close friends.
What is the terrain and weather like where you hunt?
This early November trip typically is in the heart of winter with snow and cold temperatures in Eastern Oregon at 4,000-6,000 feet.
What prompted you to make the decision to prepare for your elk hunting trip?
I had a challenging time at one point during my last hunting trip where I had trouble putting on my hunting boots and tying my laces because of my weight. At that moment, I decided that something needed to change when I got back.
What were your biggest challenges you encountered when making lifestyle related improvements?
There were specific cravings I had for the first few months but more specifically the biggest challenges I faced was staying away from late night snacking and second helpings at dinner.
What are 3 tips you would tell someone about making the decision to make lifestyle related changes?
It’s going to take some time to see results. Be patient. Find better nutritional alternatives for cravings. Allow for a treat meal once a week or every other week. Just knowing that and eating clean whole foods I lost the weight without exercising in the beginning.
